Print Manager in the finishing department
Role of job:
To manage the finishing department including people, equipment and systems. To meet quality standards, efficiency targets and on time delivery to the customer.
To maintain accountability and responsibility across the department in line with company policies, performance management through KPI’s and continual improvement of the department.
Responsibility for planning and organization of workflow in the finishing department, ensuring jobs are scheduled on the correct equipment in the right order to achieve efficiency gains and on time in full delivery.
Key measures of success will be based key business KPI’s, quality measurements, management of performance and people.
To drive continuous improvement in finishing department and throughout site.
To facilitate the processing of customer orders in the most efficient way possible to meet customer deadlines, whilst maintaining company quality standards complying with existing and supporting new standards.
To recruit, manage and motivate finishing staff through development, involvement, good communication and objective management.
Take a hands on approach and leading the department by example through involvement, day to day target setting, planning, progress chasing and management of quality
Manage and develop initiatives to continually improve the department ensuring projects are seen through to conclusion.
Responsible for all key departmental KPI’s
To work in a safe manner adhering to laid down health and safety procedures and ensure all finishing personnel do likewise ensuring reporting/action all accidents and near misses
To organise and take responsibility for operators to ensure tasks are completed effectively on a daily basis
Provide technical advice and expertise in relation to quality issues.
Improve on time in full results
Establish, manage and delivering finishing performance targets
To drive performance improvement from your team whilst managing & developing continuous improvement initiatives to improve finishing performance levels
To support Quality function in investigating complaints through questioning techniques and root cause analysis.
To be mentored and trained in completing analysis and feedback on performance metrics to a range of audiences.
Ensure compliance to Good manufacturing Practice & General Housekeeping of machines and surrounding areas.
To identify skills gaps in the department and preparing and implementing training programmes to address gaps.
To be proactive and encourage others in the pursuit of continuous improvement projects and operational excellence.
To complete all necessary administrative tasks (hard and soft) including participating in training & mentoring to understand SFDC and use it accordingly to improve site performance.
To attend and participate in meetings as appropriate.
To proactively work in partnership with the engineering department to log faults or asset care issues concerning the machines working together to improve the flow of communication regarding faults to increase the performance of all machines.
Manage recruitment, absence and disciplinary process in line with company policies.
Carry out regular performance reviews of staff and yearly appraisals.
Work closely with other managers to carry out new product introduction and manager the growth of the company.
