Our client is a large testing laboratory based in North Wales. Due to growth and continued investment, they are looking to recruit a Quality Control Officer who’s primary job will be to ensure that all lab quality for UKAS accreditation is achieved and maintained  


The Role


Coordinate site audit schedule for the site to ensure that the UKAS 17025 accreditation risk is managed

Ensure agreed actions from audits and circulate to management team.

Chair weekly meetings with departments across the laboratory teams to review section position in more detail and support section action plans

Provide departments with support with staying on top of quality KPI measures

Coaching and mentoring of all staff including team leaders on how to correctly complete quality investigations, actions and audits.

Spot check labs – provide an independent assessment of quality position

To conduct scheduled audits or delegate them to trained auditors, in line with the audit schedule within the quality manual. Raise and investigate nonconformities

Coordinate the completion of training record updates following method amendments.

Coordinate Quality system for the site to ensure compliance

Monitor the progress of investigations, actions and verifications; chase laboratory staff as required.

Keep Quality system up to date and create audit schedules and they are carried out by trained auditors

Ensure all non-compliances are dealt with via the quality system.

Alert management team of non-compliances as necessary




The ideal candidate will have appropriate laboratory and necessary organisational skills. You will be educated to degree/GSVOQ/HND etc. in a related science subject with having a good experience of working in a lab/laboratories and being in contact of quality systems.
